Visiting the Museum of World War II

Visiting the Museum

The museum is private and all visits have to be by appointment. Our volunteers schedule visits on Mondays [reserved for World War II veterans and their families], Wednesdays and Saturdays, and in special circumstances, other days can be arranged [though never on Sundays, nor in close proximity to holidays]. Because of the amount of time most people spend visiting the museum we do not like to schedule visits after 11am.

We do not allow visitors under 18 years old except in rare circumstances: the minor must write us a detailed letter explaining their interest in World War II and why they want us to consider having them visit. They need to treat this letter seriously – we do. It is also necessary that both parents accompany a minor if they are visiting.

World War II military and home front veterans have priority in arranging visits and need to briefly tell us of their service experience.

All prospective visitors need to tell us why they are interested in visiting the museum; we want our visitors to be those who will appreciate the importance of the collection and the interactive nature of the exhibits and artifacts. The museum is not entertainment – it is serious.

We do not allow photography under any circumstances and cameras cannot be brought into the museum.

The museum is located 20 minutes west of downtown Boston at the junction of the two major highways. We will send you directions and a map at the time of confirming the date of your visit. THE MUSEUM IS NOT LOCATED AT THE ADDRESS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.

We request a minimum contribution of $15 per visitor to help defray our operating expenses. Checks can be made payable to Museum of World War II, Inc.
